This board has a 90° L-shaped lip that hooks over the edge of your countertop, keeping it locked in place while you work. Why Stainless Steel Over Plastic or Wood?

Plastic boards look clean on the surface but they develop micro-cuts over time. Bacteria hides in those cuts. You can wash it, but you can't get in there. Wood is even worse. It soaks up liquid, holds odors, and warps after a few months.
